American Language Course Puzzles

Here is more practice on vocabulary for advanced students that are taking the American Language Course. Pick a Book # from the menu on the left, then click a Lesson # to load a puzzle. I suggest you first try the wordsearch puzzle on a lesson, and then do the crossword. Good luck!

Wordsearch puzzles

To work a wordsearch puzzle, drag your mouse cursor across or down the grid. When you've highlighted a key word  in the grid, its scrambled version will change color in the list at the bottom of the page. Help is at the ready: you will be limited to 20 Letter Hints and 10 Word Hints.

Crossword puzzles

Surely you've done many crosswords before. Well, this set is smarter than many - it will jump automatically to your next word, whether it's across or down. It can check your spelling as you go: use the Check button from the menu on top of the page. Also, like in wordsearch puzzles, here you will be limited to 20 Letter Hints and 10 Word Hints. Lastly, for those who find it difficult to use a QWERTY keyboard,  there's the Input Alphabet that's operated with your mouse.
